
Shortlisted candidates have been announced for this year’s Deutsche Borse photography prize. Anna Fox, Zoe Leonard, Sophie Ristelhueber and Donovan Wylie, among them who are up for the £30,000 award. The shortlisted pictures were finally given to a photographer, who has made a major contribution for the European Industry. The winners of 2010 competition will be focused majorly on themes of gender, nationality, surveillance and political conflict, and would be announced by 17 March of 2010. And also an exhibition will be conducted at the Photographer’s gallery in London from February 12 to 18 of April 2010.
Anna Fox, from the series The Village, Fox was nominated for the way she ‘dissects the bizarre and the ordinary in British life’, said chair of the judges and director of the Photographers’ Gallery Brett Rogers and Donovan Wylie, Sterile, Phase 1 Granted exclusive access to Northern Ireland’s Maze prison, Wylie captures what the judges referred to as ‘the psychology of architecture and Sophie Ristelhueber, Fait No 31 Ristelhueber photographs war zones after the combatants have long since departed, recording the impact of battle and many others. So we wait till 17 March of 2010 to know the owner of £30,000.
