Lourdes has a story of 14-year old Bernadette Soubirous who saw the Virgin Mary in a series of 18 visions that came to her in the grotto. Visions that made Lourdes one of the World’s holiest pilgrimage place for the Christians. This place has been a certified miracle every decade. Here there are many caves and which are like an underground cathedral where the Nature have carved out huge halls and exiting rock formations. The servicing here is extremely unbelievable because there are about 7,000 volunteers who pull the wheelchairs for the disabled and the infirm who has come to the Lourdes to visit the grotto and ask for blessings.
Every year Lourdes gets pilgrims of about seven millions. Every rock where Bernadette saw the Lady of the Immaculate Conception is worn smooth by the hands of the peoples who touched it over the years. Most of the pilgrims fill their bottle with the holy water from the springs and take home. The basilica is the Basilique du Rosaire and inside 15 chapels beautifully made out in mosaic. In the end the torch-light procession that’s starts from the Massabielle Grotto every night at 9 makes Lourdes pilgrims visit and visit again.
